finally it seems Mr. Gilani made a valiant effort to save their government in the centre by ensuring the restoration of the Punjab Govt. asap, as well as the filing of an appeal petition in the supreme court of pakistan against the allowance of the Sharif brothers to be eligible for being part of any assembly in pakistan, which would eventually lead to Shahbaz Sharif's restoration as CM Punjab. I beleive they had to do this in order to have the PML(n)'s support in forming the central govt. under the auspicies of the PPP. This can be called a success of the democratic forces of Pakistan but I smell a fish in the background of it all which i presume we all know by the name of the United Statf America which they seem to have exercised through the Commander In Chief of the armed forces of Pakistan, General Ashfaq Kiyani. What appears to have happened on the day of the long march is that Nawaz Sharif provoked a large number of common people of Punjab to get up and join the long march of the lawyers to go to Islamabad and sit till the restoration of judges. Seeing the huge number of protestors building up for the long march from Lahore, and predicting the unrest and havoc it might have caused possibly leading to foreign invasion by either India or Israel who are ever-waiting for such a chance to attack pakistan and overtake its resources. Now this fish i smell is stinky but for the time-being at least, if not more, it did save Pakistan. So who should we thank? America? Nawaz Sharif? Gilani? Zardari? I would prefer thanking Nawaz Sharif and Gilani and ofcourse General Kiyani instead of Mr.Zardari or even the USA as they have a lot to prove to me for me to disregard their past history towards Pakistan.

  3. Maybe your take on regional state actors is a bit over the top. The thought of Israel attacking Pakistan when it has enough problems to deal with from Hamas and Iran is slim at best.
That said, Pakistan has become a Political playground for so many non-state actors like Nawaz Sharif and Zardari (Not to mention countless others). The way I see it, our situation is a result of an unsteady balance of power between these non-state actors who're in it for their individual economic gain. Furthermore, non of them is going to make any harsh decision because it'll hurt their bread basket too.

  4. Yes, you may be a little bit right about Israel not attacking Pakistan but India is always ready to harm Pakistan, which I beleive it is head over heels into these days when Pakistan needs diplomatic support from countries like India which themselves lookout for finances from friendly economic powers
